Why focus on children and flags?
Because national pride is passed down. A small flag in a child’s hand is a positive, unifying symbol, not a political statement.
Is this a political movement?
No. Celebrate Oz is explicitly non-partisan and does not support or oppose any political party, candidate, or policy.
Are councils or businesses involved?
No. This is a citizen-led initiative. Participation is voluntary and community-based.
Will there be protests, marches, or speeches?
No. There will be no chanting, megaphones, or demonstrations. This is a calm, family-friendly presence in public spaces.
Is this movement dismissive of history?
No. Celebrate Oz recognises Australia’s full history, but we reject the idea that celebrating our country and acknowledging the past cannot co-exist.
Is this a response to “Change the Date” activism?
Celebrate Oz is focused on celebration, not opposition. We are not campaigning against anyone, we are encouraging Australians who want to celebrate to feel confident in doing so.
Who funds Celebrate Oz?
Funding comes from small public donations, used transparently for flags, logistics, and volunteer coordination.
How can people help?
By donating, volunteering, sharing our message, or simply celebrating Australia Day, Anzac Day and National Flag day with pride.
